Hi, I need to test an application on FreeBSD. Officially Parallels - although claiming FreeBSD support - seems to support only up to version 10.1, a version that can't even be downloaded easily anymore. Anybody successful with FreeBSD 12? Thanks .r.
I've had a run on FreeBSD 11, and I must say, it's pretty good actually if you have no expectation in the parallels-tools goodies (I wan't able to get X to start on virtualbox at all). I can live without file-sharing, etc, I mainly want to test software there... It's quite a strain on the eyes though: does somebody have a recommendation how to get crisper fonts? I also wonder what it actually depends on: X just starts, I am not sure which driver is used, it's pretty snappy, actually, but coarse. I am using Xfce. Any tips?
I have just installed Arch Linux on a Seagate GoFlex Home device following instructions on that web page and wondered if it would be be possible to use FreeBSD instead since it has ARM support, but I don't know if anyone has ever built FreeBSD for ARMv5te which is what the device uses.
See my other post -- I've been trying TrueOS (desktop port/mod for FreeBSD) ... really laggy mouse, ZFS use seems prone to issues on a virtual disk.
