I found that the session is always established with 32 bit color depth, even I have set 16 bit in client side and enable "Limit maximum color depth = 16 bit" in group policy of server side. Is there anyway to force the color depth to be 16 bit? Thanks. Server: windows serve 2016 (RD session host) client: windows 7 with RDP8.1, Parallels client 16.5.2
@alext7 As specified in the GPO description "The value specified in this policy setting is not applied to connections from client computers that are using at least Remote Desktop Protocol 8.0". Since your Windows 7 has RDP 8.1, it will always use 32-bit to connect to RDP 8.0 or later servers (Windows 2012 and later). If you really need to use 16-bit for application support, you might be able to use the "compatibility" tab on the exe's properties to solve any issues you may be having.
