How do I change the location of where capture area stores files. It goes to dropbox. I want it to go to desktop or a folder of my choice. I tried moving the screenshots folder to another location but new captures continue to be stored on dropbox.

    Hello,

Capturing tools store files to ~/Desktop. But if you make your ~/Desktop to be saved with Dropbox then capturing files may go to Dropbox.
We're working on possibility to change folder where captured files are saved.

I am not sure how I would have made my /Desktop saved with Dropbox. I am not saving my Desktop to Dropbox. Do you know how I can change this to save to my Desktop? Thanks.

Thanks. I don't want to sync my desktop with dropbox.

Rather, I would like my parallels tools to store my screen captures on my desktop and not in dropbox.

    Is this possible?

First of all check that you desktop is synced with Dropbox:
    - Open Terminal.app
    - run "ls -la ~/Dropbox"
    - check if there is symbolic link to your ~/Desktop folder

    It looks like I do:

    drwx------@ 22 bryandoyle staff 748 Oct 24 14:27 .

    drwxr-xr-x@ 42 bryandoyle staff 1428 Oct 5 11:37 ..

    -rw-r--r-- 1 bryandoyle staff 22532 Oct 25 16:09 .DS_Store

    -rw-r--r--@ 1 bryandoyle staff 4096 Jul 3 2015 ._.dropbox.cache

    -rw-r--r--@ 1 bryandoyle staff 4096 Jul 3 2015 ._2011MTG1039

    -rw-r--r--@ 1 bryandoyle staff 4096 Jul 3 2015 ._Desktop

But in selective sync in Dropbox I don't see my desktop. Is there a way to delete this? Thanks for your help.

Hmm, I'm afraid I don't know Dropbox enough to disable sync your Desktop with Dropbox correctly.
May be you find answer in Dropbox documentation or Dropbox support.

I was able to stop send the screen capture by deleting the symlink but also had to unlink dropbox and uninstall parallels tools. Then reinstall and relink dropbox.

I did get a message asking if I want to store in dropbox with the first screen capture. I assume this message is coming from parallels tools. So you should add some options for file locations....this would also be good for download videos app.

I like parallels tools a lot so I hope you keep adding features.

    Hi Guys

I had the same problem, I fixed it by disabling The "share screenshots using dropbox" in dropbox preferences
