Hello, I have the same problem with Parallels 10. I moved from a mac mini server to an iMac. Please advise.
Have you enabled Direct X in the VM config, under video? The default setting is "Off." Hope this helps.
I'm not getting a valid DMG using Safari or Firefox.

Direct video card access is not supported in any virtualization software. You'll need to run BootCamp for 3D since BootCamp is not virtualization...

How much RAM are you giving Parallels? (Preferences..., Memory tab) How much RAM are you giving each VM? (VM Configuration Editor)
You may need to increase RAM for Parallels also. Check Parallels Desktop > Preferences..., Memory tab.

If your VM files are gone, you'll have to create a new one and re-install XP, re-authorize, re-install 1000 Windows updates.
No need to reinstall XP. Sounds like you trashed your VM files.
