    Hello,
I have Parallels Desktop 19 on a Macbook Pro (late 2016, model 13,3, Intel, 16MB) which runs on Monterey 12.7 and I am considering installation of Sonoma on VM. Would this work smoothly? Would appreciate comments / experiences, thanks.

Although not officially supported (Parallels only support macOS vms on host systems that are compatible with those releases) you could give it a go. In the part I've successfully run OS X virtual machines on macs too old to support them as a host. You would more likely run into issues doing things the other way round; like running a VMware with a macOS older than your hardware supports.
I think there's a good chance you'll get Sonoma working.
